Why Evolara?
Evolara began with a question that became impossible to ignore: What happens someone you love needs support-but the options don't feel like home?
As a nurse, I have spent years caring for others and seeing firsthand the difference that compassionate, individualized care can make. But my understanding of that need became deeply personal through my own son, a young adult with disabilities.
Like so many parents, I want him to have the opportunity to grow into adulthood with as much independence, purpose, and choice as possible-while still having the support he needs to thrive. As I navigated residential options for him, I began to recognize a gap. There were services available, but finding a place designed around the lives of younger adults with disabilities-a place that felt warm, personal, and truly like home-was much harder.
I kept coming back to the same thought:
There has to be another option.
That thought became Evolara.
Evolara was created from both a mother's perspective and a nurse's experience, with the belief that quality care and a meaningful life should never be mutually exclusive. Our vision is to create small, supportive homes where individuals are known as people first-their personalities, interests, goals, abilities, and dreams shaping the support they receive.
Because adulthood shouldn't simply mean having somewhere to live.
It should mean having a place to belong, opportunities to grow, and a life that feels like your own.
That's the heart behind Evolara-and why we're building something different.
A home should be a place where every person feels known, valued, and included.
Support should empower individuals to make choices, build skills and live as independently as possible.
Everyone deserves opportunities to discover their strengths, pursue meaningful goals, and continue becoming who they want to be.
